Gold prices in Pakistan fell Rs1,600 per tola on Saturday, tracking a decline in global bullion that pushed international rates down $16 to $4,165 an ounce and kept pressure on local jewelry demand.
Pakistan gold prices fall Rs1,600 per tola
The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association said local gold settled at Rs439,036 per tola, while 10 grams dropped Rs1,372 to Rs376,402. Silver also eased Rs81 to Rs6,175 per tola, underscoring a broader pullback across precious metals.
Sentiment Indicators
The move matters for buyers and jewellers because Pakistan’s market is closely tied to imported bullion costs and currency dynamics. When international prices fall, local rates usually follow quickly, easing replacement costs for retailers but also making near-term price swings more acute for households and investors using gold as a store of value.
The latest decline comes after gold in Pakistan jumped Rs2,800 per tola on Friday, highlighting how sharply the market is whipsawing day to day. Global futures have also weakened, with U.S.-listed gold ETF GLD hovering below its 50-day moving average and the COMEX contract trading around $4,138, while technical readings show momentum cooling after recent volatility.
Adalytica’s Gold Fear & Greed Index shows sentiment still neutral, but awareness remains at “Extreme Fear,” suggesting traders are still cautious despite pockets of stabilization. With bullion still near elevated levels, the next catalyst is likely to come from the dollar, real yields and any shift in safe-haven demand.
