Antam’s gold price rose 7,000 rupiah on Saturday to 2.572 million rupiah per gram, a modest move that keeps Indonesia’s retail bullion benchmark near record levels and reinforces gold’s appeal as a store of value for local buyers.
Antam Gold Price Rises to 2.572 Million Rupiah
The gain matters because Antam’s pricing is a key reference for Indonesia’s physical gold market, where higher prices can temper new purchases but lift the value of existing holdings. The buyback price also increased to 2.387 million rupiah per gram, improving the amount sellers would receive if they cash out.
Sentiment Indicators
For investors, the move extends a broader gold bid even as global pricing has been uneven. Gold-related sentiment remains neutral in Adalytica’s Gold Fear & Greed Index, but the model shows “extreme fear” awareness, while conventional technical indicators on gold-tracking vehicles suggest the metal remains in a volatile stretch after recent swings.
The pricing update also highlights how local bullion markets can move independently of broader global trends when currency dynamics and regional demand shift. Antam’s published rates are sensitive to changes in the rupiah, import costs and the pace of retail buying, making the metal both a hedge and a liquidity option for households and smaller investors.
That leaves traders watching whether Saturday’s increase is the start of another leg higher or just a one-day adjustment. The next catalyst will be overseas gold prices, the rupiah and any fresh changes in global risk appetite.
